THREE QUICK BITES FROM YOURS TRULY TO ENHANCE YOUR PIZZA GAME
ONE
Therapy has been coming up more often in a lot of my conversations. It’s something that I personally haven’t been that open to until recently. I want to be a better version of myself every day, and I think getting some insight to why and how I react to certain things could really help me become that better self.
To know why some things bother me, and others don’t. To understand why I am so insecure and self conscious about certain things in my life, and why I take things so personally. I’m willing to dive into the trauma of life to get a better understanding of why.
I want to be a better boss, husband, and father. Reading books can only take me so far.
Honestly, I think anyone who has spent more than a year in the restaurant industry could probably benefit from therapy. After these past two years that we’ve all experienced, maybe it should be governmentally funded for everyone.
Anyway, I’ll get back to you about this journey, I just wanted to be open about mine, because I believe mental health should be talked about, just like we talk about other issues that affect us. We can always benefit from knowing more about ourselves. In return it can help us be better to everyone.
TWO
Speaking of trauma, I really want to give back and help as many people as possible with their restaurant dreams so they don’t ever have to feel the way that I did. I put together these 5 things I wasn’t prepared for when opening up Hot Tongue.
THREE
“Promise me you’ll always remember — you’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” — Christopher Robin
Self-love and self-care are incredibly important to our mental health. The way we talk to ourselves, the way we see ourselves, and the issues we carry around without even knowing it all affect the way we live.
Remember that just getting out of bed some days is an accomplishment. Life is hard, but I think if we are healthy enough to be our own #1 fan we can help support and inspire those around us to do the same.
EXTRA SLICE: A classic scene from one of the greatest movies of my childhood. The Turtles were ruthless for not tipping the delivery driver, even if he was only 2 minutes late.
