1.2.3. Patience is an Endurance Sport

Hey it’s Alex—

Patience is one of those things they keep telling you to have since childhood, and let me tell you, it’s not something you outgrow when you’re an adult. I mean, seriously, it’s like a constant thing we probably all need to hear, especially when you’re blazing down the track toward your dreams.

They say, and when they say it they are right, it’s not about sprinting like a maniac. It’s about digging deep and channeling your inner endurance athlete. Can I be real with you? I’m feeling pretty tired. Pouring your heart, soul, and thought into your dreams is no joke. And sometimes, the rewards don’t roll in as expected.

Life’s got this sneaky way of throwing curveballs you never even thought to prepare for. That’s the slippery ground where fear likes to tiptoe in, where your decision-making becomes a bit foggy. I’ll admit it; that’s when doubts start creeping into my mind.

I’m not holding all the strings in this grand puppet show, but what I can steer is my perspective, my attitude, and my reservoir of patience.

So, here I am, writing this out for anyone who might be riding this same wave. Trust me, I’m right there with you. I get it; time’s the medicine I need—a healthy dose of it. I know if I keep my head down and stop scribbling about my fears, things will turn out for the better. But let’s be real: airing it out and giving voice to the fact that big ambitions and monumental work can stir up a cocktail of terror and stress is valuable in itself.

But that’s the catch, in industries that put the “hard” in hardcore, you’ve got to have this love affair with struggle. It’s like part of the deal—a hidden secret whispered between the universe and your dreams. And hey, if we can keep on keeping on through these wild rides, the victory lap is going to taste all the sweeter when we get there. At least I hope so!
