Avoiding Pitfalls, Using Your Imagination & A Recipe For Success

3 BITES EVERYONE KNOWS THE RULES

ONE

Hot Tongue is up and running!

It is amazing to see an idea come to life. You truly can do anything you set your mind to. I am a firm believer in that.

Going through this whole process has given me even more fuel to help other people out. I NEVER want anyone to feel like I did these last few months. I am excited to better help people avoid the pitfalls of opening their own dream.

I am currently working on a checklist of 25 things to think about before opening up shop. I hope that it will shed just a little light on the major process of undertaking a full build-out for a restaurant.

TWO

I have been thinking about the recipe for success. I am not sure one size fits all here.

I’d say persistence and obsession probably play a huge role.

What are you obsessed about? What do you go to bed thinking about? I think that’s probably where the cake becomes batter.

Then it’s time for sugar and salt. Drive, passion, insight, research, routine? Then decorate the cake with hard work, empathy, honesty, and above all integrity.

I think that cake would be pretty fire.

THREE

“The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.”

-Albert Einstein

Imagination is something we use less and less of when we let the confining walls of society paint our picture. As young people we are told to grow up, stop acting like a kid, be an adult. I say fuck that.

I am trying to live with a child-like mentality as much as I can, clear of all the garbage that is instilled in us when we are younger. I can see this kind of magic in my son’s eyes, and it reminds me that a table can be a mountain, a pillow can be a sea.

It reminds me to be a little more curious, a little more trusting, and to use my imagination as much as possible.
