Hey it’s Alex,
Recently, with the shop picking up, a few consulting gigs, preparing for the Pizza Power Forum in Atlanta, and the California Restaurant Show, on top of life’s daily demands, priorities have taken the driver’s seat.
Unfortunately, some things fall by the wayside, creating bouts of anxiety when I can’t get everything done.
I enjoy being busy, but I hate feeling out of control.
Sometimes, when life feels like it’s spiraling out of control with the amount on your plate, it’s good to remember that everything eventually turns to shit no matter how long we try to fight it.
Knowing this helps me remember that everything I am dealing with, working on, or even loving, is fleeting and to enjoy the ride. We all need a little chaos so new growth can emerge.
We all turn to shit but that’s how flowers grow.
If you want me again look for me under your boot soles.

A few weeks ago, I hosted an intimate gathering in my backyard with some old friends and new ones.
We cooked pizzas in the Gozney and had some good chats about life. Garrett (@ricottabear) captured one of many candids that night. It was a wonderful evening filled with great laughs, amazing people, and, of course, incredible pizza.
