1.2.3. The Long Haul: Embracing Life’s Marathon and Overcoming Setbacks

Hey, it’s Alex—

I constantly remind myself that the work I’m engaged in isn’t a short sprint; it’s more of a long, challenging marathon. The past few months have proven to be exceptionally tough, and it’s easy to fall into self-pity. Nevertheless, it’s been important to remain on the path, stay focused on goals, and not allow any setbacks to throw me off.

As the saying goes, “It’s always darkest before the dawn,” right? Sure, there may be moments when a good cry is necessary, but it’s equally important to gather yourself, keep moving forward, and persist on the journey. I don’t think a fulfilling life is meant to be “easy” in the first place.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”
