Hey, it’s Alex,
Working with someone can be a true joy or sometimes an absolute nightmare.
That’s why it’s important to have a rock-solid hiring process. After many years of hiring friends and friends of friends, I have implemented a four-step interview process and several other firewalls to ensure we find the right people for our programs.
This has made a world of difference and has equipped my management team with the tools they need to properly find the best team members for our restaurants.
Hiring can be a pain, but there’s nothing worse than going through the entire onboarding and training process only to discover that the person you hired isn’t fit for the job.
It’s crucial to establish this system early so you can build a team that you want and that wants to be there.
Building a great team is not just about finding the right people though; it’s about creating an environment where those people can thrive, collaborate, and achieve great things together.
“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” — Henry Ford
One of our original hires at Hot Tongue moved on to a new career last week. Cris will be missed by all of us.
It’s a major loss when that kind of energy leaves the room. Cris’s smile, attitude, and jokes could always brighten the restaurant. We are all here for a good time, not a long time, and when Cris was working, it was always a good time.
