1.2.3. Fear isn’t Real

Hey, it’s Alex,

Failure is where I have found most of my success.

My failures have helped me to understand that fear is not real.

I learned that fear is an imaginary wall that I build to keep myself from “hurting”.

You have to hurt to live though. Isn’t life pain? Heartbreak, disappointment, debt, risk, anger, sadness, tears, the whole gamut of hiking through shit is where success lies.

Every time I take a swim in the shit pool, it’s a reminder that it’s never as bad as I envisioned. It makes taking the next chance much easier.

What’s even more important when running a business and this is a tough one is letting your team fail, even to the detriment of your business. They need a safe space to make mistakes.

Not business-ending mistakes, but big mistakes.

It’s the best way to learn and can also be the best way to teach.

I have had to swim in the shit pool many times.

I am so happy to be able to either dive in and help my team when they fall in or at least know when to throw them a life vest.

Take a look at yourself and then make a change”
