1.2.3. Fear: Friend or Foe?

3 quick bites to enhance your pizza game.

Fear. This one thing can get in the way of everything. I have been scared so many times in my career. There have been a lot of lows and those lows have taught me more than any of the best successes I’ve ever tasted.

Fear for me is usually caused by things that are out of our control. These things can feel very overwhelming.

I have to remember to focus on today, the task at hand and the problem or opportunity in-front of my face. Fear can be blinding. Dwelling on the unknown can be so consuming you forget to take care of the present moment, and each moment is beautiful, each breath is a gift.

Fear is something that is designed to hold us back, to keep us from believing we can do or be something.

I’d challenge everyone this week to do something that scares the shit out of them. Whether that’s chill with a spider, have a tough conversation, or get started on opening a business. The more we all jump off the fear diving board the better it is for everyone around us to see that shit doesn’t have to be scary. The pool party is a lot more fun when everyone’s swimming!

“I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning how to sail my ship.”

Louisa May Alcott

I have seen and sailed through many storms and have many ahead. Being an entrepreneur comes with its fair share of bad weather. As a consultant its literally what I am hired to do. Sail a ship to the buried treasure without any bad waves.

The storms continue to come, but what I get better at is where to go on the boat, to know where I am needed to stay afloat. To sail that mother fucker right into the eye of the storm and know, that no matter what, I am coming out on the other side with even more strength to carry on into the next one.

I’m never going to let some thunder and lightning get in the way of the path that I desire.

EXTRA SLICE: Its spooky season.
