Hey, it’s Alex—
Running a restaurant has its highs and lows, and slow weeks can feel like an eternity, especially when bills are looming.
It’s incredibly easy to slip into a negative mindset when things feel like an uphill battle.
If I don’t pause to appreciate the good around me, my thoughts sometimes spiral into negativity without me even realizing it.
I often find myself questioning what I’m doing wrong, but my wife usually steps in to remind me that things aren’t as dire as they seem.
Taking a step back to assess the business over a month rather than fixating on daily or weekly ups and downs has been a helpful perspective. I’m slowly learning the value of focusing on the bigger picture rather than dwelling on a tough day.
Sometimes concentrating on metric like money can be a misleading way of measuring your success.
Be careful not to base all of your worth on that one single thing.
